The maths, before anything else
$295 covers the group, not the head. Five people makes it $59 each for a ten-hour guided day with a van and hotel pickup, which is less per person than the $73 pop culture walk and buys five times as many hours. Two people makes it about $148 each, which is more than the $115 flagship evening and considerably more than the $90 daytime tour. The tour does not change; the value does, and it swings entirely on how many of you climb into the van.
The rooftop admission is included, which matters for the same reason it matters everywhere else on this site: official slots open at midnight Japan time and the good ones go in minutes, and the 14th-floor counter has nothing the website has not already failed to sell. Official entry is ¥2,700 before 15:00 and ¥3,400 from 15:00, so the ticket is a small part of what you are paying for here. The rest is the day.
What the ten hours actually contain
The itinerary the operator publishes runs an hour of transfer, two hours at Sensō-ji, two hours at Meiji Shrine, two hours at SHIBUYA SKY, an optional hour for a café lunch and an hour back. Meals are excluded. Guiding is available in English, Japanese, Italian, Urdu, Hindi and Chinese, which is a wider spread than anything else on this site offers.
Two hours on the deck is generous. Most visitors spend 60 to 90 minutes, and the only real queue up there is the one for the CLOUD HAMMOCK, the netted hammocks you lie back in on the roof. With a driver waiting you are not watching the clock on the way out, which is the part of a private booking people underrate.
The reviews, honestly
Four reviews. That is the number, and it is why I am not going to present the 5.0 as evidence of anything much. Brandy from the United States wrote that “Baba was an amazing driver and guide during our Tokyo tour”. One warm review from a named traveller is worth reading; it is not a track record. The tours with 125 and 249 reviews behind them are the ones where the score means something, and I have set them out on the all tours hub.
Two practical exclusions before you book: the listing states it is not suitable for pregnant travellers or anyone affected by altitude sickness. The rooftop sits 229 metres up and is open-air, so that second one is not boilerplate.
